New York State Thruway Authority, GreenSpark Commercial Project GreenSpark was hired by Kandey Company to install five wind turbines for the New York State Thruway Authority. These five wind turbines produce power for toll booths, rest stops, and maintenance facilities from Buffalo to Erie. The five locations are Westfield, Silver Creek, Riply, Eden-Angola, and Dunkirk. All five of the turbines are also Vergent 275kW. Organizations of all sizes have taken advantage of clean and local energy to help power their businesses. Lawrence Doody and Sons, GreenSpark Commercial Wind GreenSpark installed a 50kW wind turbine at the dairy farm located in Tully, NY. Lawrence and Avis Doody started at the present location in 1949 with 35 cows and less than 80 acres. Avis and her sons Edward, Richard, and Kevin currently operate the farm. The farm now milks about 330 cows and tills 900 acres of barley, hay, corn silage, and corn grain. SUNY Alfred Commercial Wind Project GreenSpark installed a 100kW wind turbine at SUNY Alfred in September 2013. The Northern Power Northwind 100 was the ninth of ten total Northwind 100s that GreenSpark has installed. Richmond Farms Dairy, GreenSpark Commercial Wind GreenSpark installed a 50kW wind turbine at the dairy farm in July 2012. Nathaniel Richmond founded the farm in 1835. The 6th generation farmers and currently operate the farm, located in North Collins, NY, with help from their children. Today the farm milks about 200 cows and is situated on 650 acres of land to grow both corn and hay. Half Dutch Farms, GreenSpark Commercial Wind Half Dutch Farm is a dairy farm located in Clifton Springs, NY. Rod and Deb Brown purchased the farm in 1992 and started with 150 cows and 344 acres. Today they have about 700 cows and operate roughly 1,800 acres of land for corn silage, soybeans, what, and alfalfa. The installation marked GreenSpark's first commercial solar project in the state of New York. Wayne Industrial Sustainability Park, GreenSpark Commercial Wind GreenSpark designed, developed, and installed a 850kW wind turbine at HARBEC Plastics in the Wayne Industrial Sustainability Park (WISP) in Ontario, NY in December 2012. This was the first project that GreenSpark finished under the partnership with Harvest the Wind Network.
