Oh Hail No: How Well Do Solar Panels Fare in Unfair Weather?

Our region experiences a range of seasonal weather conditions, which is just one of many reasons why Western NY is so beautiful. We get it all – from picture perfect summer days to cold, snowy winters and almost everything in between. Whether they're roof mounted or on the ground, solar energy systems are tough enough to withstand all of the above while continuing to generate clean, money-saving energy. They’re designed with the elements in mind, which means they can handle pretty much anything Mother Nature has in store. Here’s how well solar panels hold up in gnarly, unpredictable Western New…

The healthcare sector combats and mitigates the resulting health problems every day. Renewable sources of energy like solar and wind offer healthier, brighter, and more resilient communities. Solar Tariff – We’re Not Slowing Down

Hello Rochester Area Friends,   Yesterday the President decided to impose a 30% tariff to the price of solar panels.  As you may guess, we at GreenSpark, Rochester's Fastest Growing Company, think this decision is remarkably shortsighted and detrimental to the economy and do not agree with anything that would slow us on our mission to tear down the barriers to clean energy by deploying solar, and doing our part to slow the effects of climate change right here in our community. The good news is this decision will have little to no impact on our growing solar community in…

Canvassing: First Impressions by Zach Davis

I have only been with GreenSpark for a short time, but already, my outlook on grassroots organizing and going door to door has transformed. I think there is a stigma surrounding going door to door. You can picture it: the smooth-talking, greasy salesman just looking to rip you off and take your money. At least, that's what I always pictured when I thought of going door to door. I just pictured countless doors slamming in my face; people running and diving beneath their beds to hide when they saw me coming down the street. What I imagined, however, couldn't have been…
