Exciting News! The Seneca Nation Residential Solar Project, a partnership between GreenSpark and the Seneca Nation, has been voted the Project of the Year, a national award recognized by Solar Builder Magazine. Solar Builder is a leading industry publication highlighting the construction of solar projects nationwide while sharing the latest industry products, trends, and research.

The Seneca Nation Residential Program was made possible by a Federal grant and new solar incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act, which allowed the Nation to partner with GreenSpark to bring renewable energy to their community. The Nation has since partnered with GreenSpark to bring over 20 homes clean, local, cost-effective energy with 200kW of installations completed in phase one, with phase two continuing in 2024.

The unique yet replicable project structure makes solar as accessible as possible to Nation members, with systems up to 10kW in size eligible to residents at a discount of up to 90%. Program members can then finance the remaining cost through the Seneca Nation Federal Credit Union to keep the economic benefits local to the Nation.

Read more about the Seneca Nation Residential Solar Program and how it affects local families, as well as the long-standing partnership between GreenSpark and the Nation, which began nearly a decade ago with a wind turbine, large-scale solar array, and off-grid solar solar+ storage system for a fish hatchery.
