From February 17th to 21st, GreenSpark Solar will close down operations for our 3rd annual Wellness Week—an intentional, company-wide break designed to combat burnout and support mental well-being. By enacting a collective leave, we create space for our team to rest, recharge, and return energized. 

Why is having an employee wellness program so important?

The American Psychological Association states, “Taking time off helps most US workers recover from stress and experience positive effects that improve their well-being and job performance.” 

Our Executive Director of Communications, Meaghann Schulte, spoke at DisruptHR on the importance of implementing an employee wellness program. She explained why GreenSpark leadership decided to implement Wellness Week in 2023 and why we’ve decided to continue this unique employee benefit, now going on its third year.

Wellness Week, scheduled during a naturally slower time of year for a solar company operating in a cold, snowy climate like Rochester, has proven effective at helping our crew reset before heading into our busiest season.
