GreenSpark Solar (GreenSpark) and Pivot Energy (Pivot) are in the process of installing seven solar projects totaling over 33 megawatts (MW) across New York State. Pivot Energy, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, is a national solar provider focusing on developing, financing, building, and managing solar and energy projects. It has been a privilege working with Pivot, a national leader in the development of solar projects and another certified B Corp. Pivot aims to be a leader in the solar industry that helps increase equitable access to clean energy for businesses and communities. 

This 33MW portfolio includes four projects in Ticonderoga, one in Delevan, one in Verona, and one in Ogdensburg. Pivot owns and operates these ten projects, while GreenSpark is the contractor for the primary engineering, procurement, and construction services. All of these projects are tracker systems, which means the solar panels move with the sun in order to maximize production.

Their good relationships with local subcontractors, along with their own skilled crews, gives them the ability to work multiple sites simultaneously,” said Jay Myrto, Director of Project Management at Pivot. 

Most of the projects in this portfolio are community solar arrays, which help residents and business owners who are unable to put solar on their roofs reap the economic and environmental benefits of solar energy.. Once completed, these projects will produce enough energy to power over 18,000 homes each year. 

These projects are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2024. They will contribute to New York State’s goal of installing 6 gigawatts of solar by 2025 and 10 gigawatts by 2030, set by New York’s Climate Leadership and the Community Protection Act.
