Oh, what a year it has been! We’ve added new team members, a ton of solar, created a heck of a lot of community and environmental impact, and so much more. GreenSpark is proud to be a part of this local business community and we’re grateful every day. We’re excited to share some of our highlights from 2022 with you.
2022 was a year of massive growth for GreenSpark, and 2023 is already scheduled to be our biggest solar year yet. We’re continuing on our journey of creating a more sustainable future for our region and beyond.
Some numbers from 2022
- We welcomed over 200 homeowners to our solar family and installed or scheduled more than 2 MW of residential solar.
- That means we’ve now brought over 10 MW of solar to more than 1,000 households in the region in GreenSpark’s lifetime.
- We installed or scheduled over 90 MW of commercial solar for businesses and organizations in 2022.
- That brings the total commercial solar impact to over 200 MW in GreenSpark’s lifetime.
- Between residential and commercial solar, we installed about 40,000 solar panels in 2022.
We’ve installed the equivalent of:
- Removing 60,181 tons of CO2
- Enough energy to charge 6,641,087,026 cell phones
- Offsetting carbon emissions of 135,516,151 miles driven
- The carbon impact of growing 151,702 trees for ten years
What else happened in 2022?
- We celebrated our 20th anniversary of bringing renewable energy to the Rochester region and beyond.
- Our team grew by about 30%, adding 19 employees to the GreenSpark Team
- We made the Rochester Top 100 list of fastest-growing companies in the region (again!)
- We were named a Top Workplace by the Democrat & Chronicle (again!)
- We were certified as a NYSERDA Quality Installer
- We were named a Top Contractor by Solar Power World
- Our CEO, Kevin Schulte, was named Business Person of the Year by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce
We are so proud of our collective growth with our extended solar family in the Rochester and Finger Lakes regions and beyond. Here’s to another great year in 2023 and a brighter and more sustainable future!
