GreenSpark Solar Brings Solar Power to PUSH Buffalo's Latest
Affordable Housing Project

GreenSpark Solar is thrilled to be partnering with PUSH Buffalo on their new affordable housing project, West Side Homes, which was awarded NYSERDA’s Building of Excellence designation. The project will bring 49 affordable rental apartments to West Buffalo, with BestSelf Behavioral Health providing supportive services for up to 16 households.

The units will be spread across 13 different sites, with residential designs including sustainability features such as rooftop solar arrays, all electric designs, energy efficiency measures, and one net-zero building along with two Passive House building designs free of fossil-fuels.

PUSH Buffalo’s West Side Homes project will include 200kW of solar installed by GreenSpark. Twelve buildings are new construction while the other two are renovation projects.

As New York State works toward its climate goals—which include 70% renewable energy by 2030, a zero emission grid by 2040, and the recent proposal of all new building construction reaching zero-emissions by 2027—low income housing developers are utilizing the significant incentives currently available.
