University of Rochester
GreenSpark Solar was hired for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of this 335kW solar array and integrated 392 kWh energy storage project on the rooftop of the Goergen Athletic Center at the University of Rochester’s River Campus. The project offsets the energy needs of the Center for Energy and Environment net-zero office building.
This project was a first of its kind in New York State and will provide valuable data related to solar energy and storage performance within a northeastern climate setting to promote wider scale deployment throughout the region. Overall the project will provide research, education, and outreach opportunities to University of Rochester students, the research community, New York State, and the general public.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) awarded the University a $1 million grant for the project as part of NYSERDA’s REV Campus Challenge.
