Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers Solar Canopy Project
The Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers’ 874kW project consists of 2,184 bifacial solar panels mounted on twelve canopies covering Maryknoll’s two parking lots. Ecogy Energy is the project developer, financier and owner-operator, and hired GreenSpark to provide the construction & installation services. The project is funded in part by the NY-Sun program.
The installation is the largest solar canopy installation in Westchester County and the first community solar project in the Town of Ossining. The energy produced will benefit community members with a 10% discount on their Con Ed bills, with a focus on prioritizing low-to-moderate income households in Ossining.
Maryknoll, a non-profit engaged in missionary work worldwide, is the anchor subscriber of the project and will receive payments for hosting the installation, along with credits to discount its energy bills.
