GreenSpark Solar is a 17-year-old business that prides itself on being a benefit corporation and an awesome place to work. ABOUT THIS POSITION
GreenSpark Solar’s PV Level 1 Installer is responsible for supporting the Crew Lead in all aspects of PV project installation. The correct candidate is comfortable working with a team, around heavy equipment, and on roofs/at-height to install high quality, photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings/schematics and instructions. Our PV installers ensure personal and crew safety at all times and assist in keeping shared tools organized and the working environment/job site clean. All employees take pride in representing our company and culture in the best light to our customers, community and vendors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Communication – Ability to listen critically, follow directions/designs, and interact with team members to accomplish project goals efficiently
Problem Sensitivity – With time and training, the ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong
Information Ordering – Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules
Physical Strength – Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on the ground and carry up to 45 pounds up a ladder
Transport – Access to a reliable vehicle to arrive at work daily
Travel – Frequent travel in company vehicles throughout Western NY
Working Conditions – prepared and tolerant to work outdoors in all weather conditions; comfortable working on roofs, ladders, in attics, basements, and excavation sites
Experience – Background in PV install, electrical, construction or roofing experience preferred, but not required; hands-on mechanical skills including, but not limited to proficiency with hand and power tools
Outward Facing – The ability to communicate the company’s brand/culture with clients, the public, vendors, and inspectors
Flexibility – Ability to work flexible hours based on changing conditions
Passion – Passion and enthusiasm for renewable energy and to improving individual skills that contribute to high quality PV installations
JOB DETAILS
Position seasonal/contract with opportunity for full-time permanent based upon performance; hourly pay range of $15-18/hr (depending upon experience) and is based in Ontario, NY.
PAY & BENEFITS
After 90 days of successful employment, fully paid medical premiums as well as a significant contribution toward medical deductible expenses, for the employee and family;
After 90 days of successful employment, fully paid dental premiums, for the employee and family;
